Use of the www.privatevines.co.uk web site is on condition you agree to the terms and conditions of Private Vines detailed below.

Availability
We aim to hold most non-personalised wines in stock. Sometimes, however a particular wine may not be immediately available. If any part of your order is not in stock we will contact you and offer an alternative of equal or greater value. You will have the option to cancel your order if you would rather not accept an alternative or wait. Your credit/debit card will only be processed when orders are dispatched.

Ways of paying
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP), and are per case of 12 bottles unless specified. Standard bottle sizes are 750ml.
The prices include UK Value Added Tax, unless otherwise specified.
Any delivery charges are additional to the cost of wine.
We accept payment by Switch/Maestro, Solo, Visa, MasterCard and Cheque. In the case of payment by cheque the order(s) will only be dispatched when cleared funds have been received into our bank account.
All goods remain property of the vendor until paid for in full.

Age Restrictions
We do not sell wine to anyone who is under 18 years old. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

Delivery
If we have not attempted to deliver your wine within time period agreed in our delivery information, then we will refund the delivery charge with Private Vines gift vouchers to offset against your next order.

Satisfaction & Returns Policy

For damaged bottles:
Please notify us as soon as possible (and in any event within 30 days of receipt) if you receive a case containing damaged wine bottles.  We recommend customers carefully check all goods at the time of delivery. The delivery or carrier's note should be signed noting any obvious shortages or breakages. We regret we cannot definitely accept claims for shortages or breakages not recorded in this way.

All packaging/breakages must be retained for inspection in the event of any claims, which should be made within 30 days of receipt of goods. We will arrange for either the entire case or just the damaged bottles to be collected at our expense and you may choose either a full refund or replacement wine.

For tainted wine:
Again, please notify us as soon as possible if you find a bottle of wine from us to be faulty.  We will happily refund the value of the wine or replace it at our cost.  Please try to provide as much information as possible (when delivered, lot number if available) in these circumstances.  Please note that some of our wines will contain natural sediment from the winemaking process.

Label Personalisation Incorrect
Please notify us as soon as possible if your personalised label differs from the agreed personalisation following your order. We will arrange for the bottles to be collected and relabelled at our expense or refund the value of label personalisation in full.

Warranties
We warrant that the wines will be of satisfactory quality and fit for their general purpose. However to the fullest extent permitted by law Private Vines total liability for any claim howsoever arising shall not exceed the price of the wine supplied to you that gave rise to the claim. Private Vines shall not be liable for any consequential or indirect loss whether this arises from a breach of duty in contract, tort or in any other way. YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS ARE NOT AFFECTED.

Force Majeure
Private Vines will not be liable for failure to meet agreed obligations due to prevailing circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Vouchers
If you have a voucher to redeem against the purchase of wine from us, the terms and conditions on that voucher apply, and you agree to be bound by those terms and conditions.

Data Protection
By providing your details to Private Vines on our web site, you consent to Private Vines maintaining, recording, holding and using the information you give Private Vines at the time of ordering to process your orders, to improve our service to you and inform you of promotions.

All data is collected lawfully and maintained securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

If you are buying a case of wine as a gift - the recipient must also be over 18 years old. Our couriers may ask for proof of age on delivery.
