What payment methods do you accept? We accept credit cards, switch payments and cheques. Will my online transaction be secure? All web related transactions are carried out by PayPal. This trusted 3rd party payment system uses secure sockets layer technology to securely process your transactions. What is your delivery policy? Delivery Cost Our delivery rate of £5.99 per case applies for deliveries to UK Mainland addresses for up to and including 4 cases. Saturday morning deliveries incur a surcharge of £15 per consignment. Please contact us for Offshore UK delivery prices (inc. Scottish Highlands). Please call us on 0207 193 2717 if you are ordering more than 4 cases.
Delivery Lead Time Our wines are delivered by courier service and we aim to deliver within 7 days of your order (although orders paid for by cheque will be delayed until payment has cleared). Please contact us if you have particularly urgent requirements.
Delivery Days and Times We will normally deliver any day of the week from Monday to Friday at any time between 9am and 5.30pm. If we are unable to make delivery (for example if there is nobody at home when our courier calls) then the courier will try again on the following working day. Alternatively, you can choose for the wine to be left in a safe place outside your house, but please note that we cannot accept liability for loss or damage incurred after delivery. If you think you will be out when delivery is due, please call us to arrange delivery on a particular day.
What if my wine is out of stock? We reserve the right to substitute an alternative wine of equal or greater value at no extra charge to you in circumstances where we cannot supply the wine you ordered and you have not supplied us with contact details (ie a telephone number or e-mail address). In all other cases we will contact you before substituting an alternative wine. What is your refund and returns policy? For damaged bottles: Please notify us as soon as possible (and in any event within 30 days of receipt) if you receive a case containing damaged wine bottles. We recommend customers carefully check all goods at the time of delivery. The delivery or carrier's note should be signed noting any obvious shortages or breakages. We regret we cannot definitely accept claims for shortages or breakages not recorded in this way.
All packaging/breakages must be retained for inspection in the event of any claims, which should be made within 30 days of receipt of goods. We will arrange for either the entire case or just the damaged bottles to be collected at our expense and you may choose either a full refund or replacement wine. For tainted wine: Again, please notify us as soon as possible if you find a bottle of wine from us to be faulty. We will happily refund the value of the wine or replace it at our cost. Please try to provide as much information as possible (when delivered, lot number if available) in these circumstances. Please note that some of our wines will contain natural sediment from the winemaking process.
Label personalisation incorrect Please notify us as soon as possible if your personalised label differs from the agreed personalisation following your order. We will arrange for the bottles to be collected and relabelled at our expense or refund the value of label personalisation in full.
Can I go and see my Private Row? Yes you can, either on your own or you can join an organised vineyard visit, where a group of Private Vines members have an organised tour of the region, taking in all the region’s best sites as well as many wine tastings. In either case, please contact us to discuss the details.
Can any wine have a personalised label? No. Only up to 8 cases per rented row of Finca Damajuana, or Finca Damajuana/Il Segreto bottles from a private barrel, may be personalised.
Can I rent a Row for a friend? Yes, you can rent one for anyone, as long as they are over 18 years old.
Can I choose which vines are on my row? Yes. Currently, you can choose from Syrah, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, although we are continually working to add more options, and for those with very particular requests, we may be able to plant a new row for you – though this will take at least 4 years to produce any wine!
If I select personalised labels on a gift do they automatically get this personalisation on all their wine in future? It’s up to them, they can choose to keep the personalisation or return to the standard label. Which wines are exclusive to Private Vines? Private Vines imports many of its wines direct from the bodegas, usually on an exclusive basis. These wines are generally available for both wholesale and retail distribution. Please see the exclusive wines in OUR WINES section for details of the specific wines.
